I will be singing in a number of concerts in the next month and I look forward to collaborating with some great choirs, conductors and colleagues on some new repertoire and an old favourite.
It starts off with Messiah with the Bach Elgar Choir in Hamilton where I will be singing along side my wife, soprano Julie Ludwig.
Next up is a new one for me: J.S. Bach’s Cantata 147, Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben with the the Kingston Chamber choir. Fellow soloists are soprano Bethany Horst, counter-tenor Scott Belluz and tenor Christopher Mayell.
Finally, I’ll be reprising Messiah with the Musikay ensemble in Oakville. Musikay is an early music ensemble, specializing in a historically informed approach to performing Baroque music, so it should be an interesting contrast to the large choirs and modern orchestras we’re so used to hearing with Handel’s Messiah.
